Dr Paul Belesky is the Associate Director in the Australia Geopolitics Hub at KPMG and an Adjunct Research Fellow in the Centre for Policy Futures at the University of Queensland (UQ). His research expertise includes geopolitics and economics, agri-food policy, sustainable agricultural systems, sustainable development, international relations, non-traditional security, foreign policy and trade.

He holds a PhD in International Political Economy and Masters Degree in International Studies (International Relations) from UQ. He has ten years of experience in the Higher Education sector, working in research roles for institutes and universities including the Griffith Asia Institute at Griffith University, the Global Change Institute at UQ, and the Institute of Asia and Pacific Studies at the University of Nottingham. He is a member of the Asia and Pacific Policy Society at the Australian National University. Previously, he was an associate member of the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. He was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of International Environment and Development Studies at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, based near Oslo, Norway.
