I am a Forestry Engineer, specialising in forest management and planning. I am a Moroccan expert who has more than 25 years of experience in assessment, planning and management of natural resources, particularly in the context of Protected Areas in Morocco. I have helped set up and manage several development programs. I have a rich experience of collaboration at the level of government, local, national and international NGOs and within the United Nations system. My strong knowledge of the political, organisational and institutional frame of development stakeholders in Morocco is confirmed through my many responsibilities and positions previously held. Thus, I worked at the Delegate Ministry in charge of Water and Forests (Currently Water and Forests Department) as Principal State Engineer and Deputy Director of Souss-Massa National Park (6 years). Then, I held the position of the national coordinator of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) program in Morocco (3 years and 6 months). From there, I was hired for 4.5 years as a technical advisor in community-based approaches and capacity building for civil society organisations at the UNFPA office in Morocco. I have worked as a manager/consultant of IBIS Consulting (a small consultancy firm) since February 2011. In this context, I have provided, coordinated and supervised several studies, technical assistance, consulting and training services.

I have deep expertise and proven experience in areas relevant to biodiversity, water, agriculture and rural development. More specifically, I have solid knowledge and proven expertise in the following areas:

(1) Conservation and restoration of natural resources and ecosystems,

(2) Planning, management and promotion of good approaches to the development of natural resources,

(3) Governance and participation mechanism allowing different stakeholders involvement.
