I am a professor of economics at the University of Patras in Greece. At the university, I have served as a Vice Rector of Economics and Planning, the Dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration, and the Department of Economics Head. I am also a core expert on climate and environmental issues at the European Union's Evaluation Helpdesk for Rural Development. I studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and the Universities of Aberdeen in Scotland (M.Sc. and Ph.D.), and Essex in England (Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics). My research is in natural resources and environmental economics of agriculture. In particular, I focus on examining the impact of policies on GHG emissions, the use and quality of water and soil resources, and on biodiversity and ecosystem services. My work has appeared in over 100 articles, studies, and books and I have developed programs and studies for the European Union, the OECD, and many government agencies in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
