EvalXchange is the virtual festival of learning that brings you experiences and perspectives on evaluation methods, challenges and solutions from WFP and our partners.
This year we deep-dive into three topics, with the first session taking place this Thursday.

11 April | Access and trust: evaluation in constrained conditions | Register here
When conducting evaluations of humanitarian emergency responses, access constraints and distrust can seriously affect the credibility, inclusivity and ownership of evaluation results. In this session, panellists will share lessons from conducting evaluations in the Sahel, Somalia, Yemen and Ukraine before participants are invited to share their own experiences and suggestions on how to conduct better evaluations under constrained conditions.
16 April | Country capacity strengthening: evaluating the change | Register here
The commitments to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognise the need to support national capacities for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. For WFP this means supporting governments to reach more food insecure people through strengthening the transformative capacities of individuals, public institutions and civil society. However, evaluating the contribution to change (outcome) as a result of capacity strengthening interventions presents various evaluability challenges. Building on last year’s EvalXchange, the session digs deeper into concrete evaluation solutions that can mitigate the evaluability challenges.
23 April | Integrating gender in evaluations: good practices and trade-offs | Register here
This session will see evaluation managers and evaluators share good practices and lessons in integrating gender equality and women’s empowerment considerations into evaluations across a range of programmes, policies and operations which run the gamut from gender blind to gender transformative. Building on previous EvalXchange editions, the discussion will also address recurring challenges, devising effective strategies to address them, as well as recognizing and managing trade-offs within the constraints of limited resources.
